Fortune cookie...

When cupcake and fudge, no they aren't their real names but are treated like them, discover that their next door neighbour has been abusing her dog they immediately want to get the dog to safety in the comfort of their home. So that's exactly what they do, and in actual fact they get permission from the woman to take it! Cupcakes brother has an illness and is in a wheelchair and he gets very attached to the dog who they now call Cookie. One day Cookie is limping around and so cupcakes mum takes it to the vet and they say that Cookie needs an operation that will cost £300. They try a sponsored silence but only manage to raise £73 so they need something more. That's where their criminal life begins...

Cookie's condition seemed to get worse and one day he gets sick in the garden where cupcake and Fudge find something sparkling in it, a ring. This ring is genuine silver with blue gems and seems to be worth a lot of money. They take it to a local jeweller to get it valued and it is valued at around £200 so with that and the £73 from earlier they only have to raise a little bit more. So they take the ring back and need to find a way to sell it. On cupcakes block, there is a young man who has had many incidents with the police and cupcake thinks that it is a great opportunity to ask him to sell it for them, his name is Shane. 

Shane asks around and finds out he can get it for around £250 so fudge tells her mum that they did a sponsored sit still and managed to make the rest of the money. Fudge's mum immediately books an appointment for the operation and is very happy that Cookie can get better. Surely if the ring was found inside THEIR dog then the ring was theirs but wrong. When Shane finds out that the ring is a STOLEN good because it isn't actually theirs, he immediately says that he can't sell it and wants his money back. But cupcake and fudge have already spent the money so how are they going to pay him his money back? Read the book to find out the answer....

My favourite character from this book is cupcake as she is very determined to get the money for the operation and is so passionate about her dog :) Overall I would give this book a 3/5 rating as it is a good read but not as good as books that I have read in the past.

LOVE AND KISSES.

So you may have read that title up there ^^^ and you're probably thinking to yourself 'boring another book about love' but at least read the rest of this post :P anyway.. the book is about a young girl called Tamsin who is around about our age, 13. She passes past a building site every time she goes to school and she always looks out for the same boy, Alex. Eventually they have to courage to go out with each other. You're probably thinking,  'waittt is my mind deceiving me, she's 13 and he works on a building site' yes that's right, he's 16. Tamsin knows this but Alex thinks that she's 16 too. They make big plans with each other whilst sneaking behind her parents backs trying to meet up with him. But one time she gets caught. Her mum and dad go mad but not as mad as they get when she tells them he is 16. Even so Tamsin and Alex still meet up behind the parents backs. They have a plan, to run away to Spain. Alex, who is Polish can barely speak English but still likes the plan to run away to Spain and learn Spanish. As Tamsin's parents are actors, they have to go away to act for the summer holidays so Tamsin and her younger sister, Ellie are left with their great aunties, Auntie May, the bossy one and Auntie Mo, the one who does whatever Auntie May tells her. Their house is far away from where Alex works and so even though she has been told not to contact him she still texts him. One day when Tamsin is walking up the stairs, she notices a ghost hovering on the landing. She thinks she has seen the face of this ghost before and then it clicks, it is her auntie Patty as a young child. Tamsin wonders why she has come back to haunt her but then she realises they have something in common. When Patty was young she ran off with her boyfriend to New Zealand just as Tamsin had planned to run away to Spain. There was an age gap like Tamsin and Alex had. Then one day Patty's granddaughter, Maggie goes to visit the aunts and Tamsin and Ellie. Maggie says that Patty's last words were ' I can't reach her' which might mean that she couldn't reach Tamsin to send her the message that they shared something in common. A few days later, Tamsin decides to tell Alex that she is only 13 and Alex realises that they have to break up but Tamsin wishes not to. In the end she gives up and lets him go but no without great regret. My favourite character from this book is Ellie, Tamsin's younger sister. I think I like her because she kind of represents me. What I mean is that, when my sister got a boyfriend I would tease her just like Ellie does when Tamsin gets a boyfriend. Overall I would give this book a 4/5 because I think it is a great read for teenagers.

IT'S A DOGS LIFE!
This book is about a young man who has a hobby for caring for dogs. Sometimes he can actually get bullied but his passion lives on. His family runs a kennel where they care for dogs. Neil, the young boys name goes to school where they have a new headteacher who everyone hates; he is so grumpy and stingy. Neil doesn't just like dogs but any animal so when the new headteacher makes a ban of the school pets, it's not going to go down well with Neil and his boisterous sister. Running a kennel is not good when Neil's mum gets attacked by one of the abandoned dogs taken to the kennels. She doesn't want to admit it that because of that accident she is now afraid of dogs. Duke was the name of the dog that bit her and with his unpredictable personality, what will be his future? Neil tries to get his mum to like dogs again by introducing his mum to a small abandoned dog before anything big. Big plans are made to stop the school pets from being banned, but will the hard work pay off or will they be taken away? And will Neil's mum ever like dogs again?


My favourite character from this book is Neil's sister, Emily. When the new headteacher announces no pets are allowed, she is an eager fighter to make sure they are kept. Overall I would give this book a 4/5 star rating. 

The book that I have read.

The book that I thought was an aweinspiring and emotional book was 'Oscar and the lady in pink' written by Eric-Emanuel Schmitt. The book is about a young boy of about 10 years old (Oscar) who is suffering with cancer and has had to stay in hospital for the a while. During his stay at the hospital he writes a diary to God in which he encounters his everyday life from joys to dissapointments. 'The lady in pink' is one of the nurses whose uniform is a pink dress to show that she works in the childrens ward. A particular quote that I found humerous from the book was " If I was woried about what stupid people think, I wouldn't have time for what intelligent people think." My favitoute character from the book was Oscar becuause even though he has a condition which can make you feel down he makes the most of his life and fights back to whatever life throws at him. My review on the book is that it is a moving book but also quite humerous at points so overall I would actually give it a 5/5 rating.
